Cautery are five guys from lower Austria, who got together in 1993 to express their own view of heaviness, which found its latest highlight in the brandnew release "Put Me In Three Clothes" . It features songwriting and originality at it's best. The music can be described as Hardcore/Noise, but this does not really fit, since there's much more variety in it than these terms stand for. A lot of time spent on development and shows with e.g. Fetish 69, Darkside, Heinz, Mastic Scum, Monolith, Sardonyx or Faust a. d. D. lie between "Clothes" and our first output "Sophisticated Body Adornment". This demo tape released in 1995, features sick, raw Death Metal, but always comprehends some kind of groove. Our first CD ('97) "Leechy Ways To Leave Your Lover" already contains more Hardcore and
sometimes Grindcore stimulated songs, as well as an increasing variety of vocal styles, which are shared by two shouters. This path leads us to the mixture "Put Me In Three Clothes" is made of - integration of different styles and an utmost range of vocals. The lyrics' purpose is not to transport a big message; they are just an expression of the song's mood - short, ironic and sarcastic stories or mere collections of different scenes. So it's time to get yourself an impression of what Cautery is about.

Sophisticated Body Adornment
(1995)
This title is inspired by the name of a body piercing studio's product catalogue. Our cover shows the radiograph of a foot with six toes. Well, we think the owner of this foot has set a new trend in body adornments...
